Essay : What i learn in RUS 104 Studio

What I have learnt in this lesson? What I have done in this lesson? Or, What lesson did I learnt?

Communication skill is what i learnt and also the problem that I faced the most during this semester rather than only in RUS 104 Studio. In my hometown, Sibu, there are less Malay or India etnic. Even in school, I don't usually mix with them especially a Chinese school. For the 21 years born and live in Malaysia, 2013 is the first year I talk and work together with other race. It was a great challenge for me to cooperate and coordinated in group which comprise of different etnic for not homogeneous any more.

Without a doubt, learn to manage money is one of the "must" in this RUS 104 Studio. We spent plenty of money throughout the lesson. Spending is no more a heavy task for us but how to manage well is the another form of knowledge. Though PTPTN loan is given, but the amount is merely enough for me to carry out my daily activities. Somehow, I need to cut off my budget so that their is no overbudget each month.

Well, maybe learn not to sleep is also a process.

" Everyday woke up in the morning we have two choice:

               One is to go back and continue your dream;

                Other is to woke up and complete what you dream. "

Soon, I always told myself to focus and focus what you are doing at that moment in other to achieve my dreams.

The Lost Kingdom

After a long run Studio life, we come to the end which is performance night. 

Each Major group are separated and given a specific Nusantara Kingdom and planning are given Langkasuka as lost kingdom. 

These are all the performance proudly presented by all major.

Finally, the Studio almost come to the end... And before ending, we are given a task to show all our work during the whole semester 2013/2014. Our theme is " FLOATING LINE" In this project, we feel proud to be working together with the Interior Designer and we have learn many things.

Project 5 : Sense of Place : Neighborhood & Community

Existing Condition and Proposed Improvement

Finally comes to a project related to the Urban and Regional Planning.... And.... I will try my best and the best for this. 6 resident site are given for us to choose. Hence, Siara 81 is chosen for me to do the site visit.

In this project, i personally learn many thing such as Site Plan, Layout Plan, Site Inventory and etc. In A2-sized cartridge paper, i proudly present :

For the 1st time, I draw with water colour.

For the 1st time, I went visiting Developer.

FOR THE 1ST TIME, I WENT TO MAJLIS PERBANDARAN PULAU PINANG.

Project 4 : Presentation Drawing

After finish the modelling of comfortable chair, now comes to section of blueprints. 

First Part :

We need to draw a 2D drawing (Plan, Elevation, Cross Section and Detail) as well as coloring. besides, we also need to draw the 2D drawing in a scale of 1:20 together with the dimension listed.

Second Part :

We need to produce both axonometric and perspective drawing based on our chair. 

Axonometric should also draw in ratio of 1:20.

In this lesson, I learn how important the presentation drawing is. As told by Ar. Harris, presentation drawing used to let client have an image on final product in order to let them invest and buy your product. Hence, a clear scale and dimension are important.

Project 3B : Object Connection

A Comfortable Chair

Finally, here come s first model making. My brain was full of excitement and interest. 

In this work, we are working in one group consist of three person. We are require to produce a Wooden L-Shape seating object. Yet, we have 'UNITY' as theme for this work. For the design, we should not separate the table and chair and we should combine them together.

Hence, I do one sketch about the design which comes from the idea of "Fish Bone"

As long as we all agree to do this design, we soon went to buy material and start off.

After a few day of doing we finally come out with the product~~~~
